Mournful 80s electronica from Texas-based indie artist Tim Husmann‘s immersive new project, 1st Base Runner.
“All Thoughts” is the first single off his upcoming album, “Seven Years of Silence.” It’s an echoing pulsing whispering sound, vibrating with sorrow and regret. Gorgeous vintage synth sounds coaxing and curling gently while the song repeats and repeats. “All Thoughts” is really beautiful, in that aching, gothic pop way.
Husmann is a musical master, with many collaborations over the years and multiple histories to pull from, he creates something that seems to have been always there. A deep connective and resonating breath of honesty. As he says, “It was something that had to be made.”
I love music that has presence, weight, a life made simply by pressing ‘record.’ This song is like that. It feels familiar, but not in the sense that you have heard it before, in the sense that you have always known it. Gentle, poignant and meaningful. The simple lyrics bely its complexity. If feels like a chant, a meditation, a prayer….I absolutely love it.
