This is old school, hard-fought, deeply personal music.

Music crafted with feeling and intelligence and love.  Greg Jiritano, the founder of Lord Sonny The Unifier http://www.lordsonnytheunifier.com, lead guitar and vocals, his songs developed over years of work, created an album quite literally from the ashes of a disastrous fire that destroyed his studio and much of his work.  Undaunted, he gathered a group of accomplished and dedicated musicians around him and completed it.

The track “Right in Your I” is the first single of the album “Final Notice.”  This is gritty yet heartfelt music - garage rock at its most authentic.  There’s a little early Bowie, a little Motorhead, a little Clash and quite a bit of psychedelia here.  Nothing flashy, nothing contrived, just good solid melodic rock.

The themes are interesting, too.  Jiritano has a lot to say and he pulls no punches in his delivery.  His vocals are full of character and presence.  He howls and grinds and whispers, he prowls and jabs and rather cunningly uses his voice as rhythmically as he does melodically.  The song is polished without loosing its edge. It is thoughtfully and excellently produced, giving the stunning vocals the space he needs between the jabbing keys, punchy rhythms and dirty dodgy guitar.  “Right in Your I” requires some gorgeous, epic indie movie to show off its blatantly obvious soundtrack potential.

I love this track.  It sticks in your head, not like a commercial pop track does without your consent, but like the very best kind of totally unique and inspired rock does.  He pushes his talents, he takes chances with everything, and he goes for it in a way that not only works it blows you away.

Turn up the volume and the bass, and close your eyes. Loved it!
