| Developing a Script in Progress |
|
8-week
Sessions
Tuesday
Evenings
7-10PM
|
"This hands-on workshop is
designed to ready scripts for
production by taking a close
look at effective dramatic
writing. This includes in- class
exercises, the reading and
discussing of participants'
scripts in a supportive setting,
and a complete critique of each
script in detail. The instructor
will introduce proven formulas
and exercises, which can be
applied to the rewriting
process. Writers will be
encouraged to explore their own
intentions and point of view,
while learning how best to get
their script produced."
Instructor Che’Rae Adams has
been the Development Executive
for Playhouse Pictures studios,
Co-Artistic Director of the Road
Theatre Company and Managing
Producer for The Los Angeles
Women’s Theatre Festival. She
has also worked in script
development for Showtime
Networks, Alliance/Atlantis Film
& TV, & Two Girls Productions
(which she helms with casting
director Caroline Liem). She has
worked as such theatres as The
Mark Taper Forum, Seattle
Repertory Theatre, Cincinnati
Playhouse in the Park,
Cincinnati Opera, Disney/ASCAP
Musical Theatre Workshop,
Odyssey Theatre Ensemble, The
Road Theatre Company, Highways
Performance Space, The
Celebration Theatre, The Group
at Strasberg, and was trained by
director James Burroughs on the
set of “Will and Grace.”
