“10 Minute Benders” Is Diversely Funny 10 Minutes At A Time!

10 Minute Benders

The SkyPilot Theatre Company

Wow – take a look what’s at the NoHo Actors Studio in North Hollywood. The SkyPilot Theatre Company has put together an amazing comical menu of fun and frivolity called “10 Minute Benders.” Basically they are nine short plays done 10 minutes each containing lots of fun, twisted concepts and sometimes sprinkled with a little crazy fun on the side, but all done within the setting of a local bar.

How does it work exactly? Let me just put it to you this way…
Take the imaginative writing talents of SkyPilot Resident Playwrights like Nicole B. Adkins, Adam Hahn, Samantha Macher, Wendy-Marie Martin, Liz Shannon Miller, Jonathan Price, Mike Rothschild, Dave Ulrich and Nathan Wellman….

Then mix in, for plenty of flavor, the ensemble troupe of original directors like Mary Burkin, Dave Caprita, Sara Kubida, Samantha Macher, Shaunessy Quinn, Liz Shannon Miller, Jonathan Price, Morry Schorr and Lois Weiss.

And for the final ingredients, sprinkle in the talented ensemble cast of Anthony Backman, Mary Burkin, Zelika Chante, Cathy Cox, Courtney Ward, Veleeta DaCosta, Mackenzie English, Jude Evans, Trevor Eyster, Tony Franchitto, Ashley Fuller, Brett Koontz, Monica Lawson, Ellen Rae Littman, Franci Montgomery, Christopher Palle, Marie Pettit, Morry Schorr and Lois Weiss….and stir well! Now you have “10 Minute Benders!"

Your evening's adventures include the cleverly whimsical “The Chronicles of Barnia,” the Twilight Zone-Esque “This Is Only A Test,” the twist upon twist of “The Second National Bank of Estonia,” the sneaky and surprising “Caper!”, the super hero powered “Locate & Resuscitate,” the most unusual dating adventure called “Jerome,” the colorful and slightly bold “Cooch Teeth,” the romantically innocent “The Proposal” and finally the drunken romanticism piece they call “Sinatra!”

All of these performers shine in their various roles (and clever costuming for some), most with unique quirkiness or their broad, bold and colorful interpretations of these hysterical characters in hysterical circumstances. A surprising and unique way to present vignettes of fun and frivolity!

They are somewhat twisted, but definitely funny little stories complete with costumes and props all set in the location of the same bar. “10 Minutes Benders” is just plain fun. Check them out at www.SkyPilotTheatre.com!
