Fuzzy Bottoms Theater Company strives to create a safe space for actors, writers and directors to push against the norm and dare to bring unconventional subjects to the stage. For the last two years, we have brought LA Horror Stories to North Hollywood during the Halloween Season. LA Horror Stories: Vol. I and LA Horror Stories: 4 Crimes were met with great success as we expect to again with LA Horror Stories: Red Meat coming to The Sherry Theater this fall. For more information, go to lahorrorstories.com. This production of Pandora’s Box is the first of an ongoing director’s mentorship introducing two new directors, Karla Davis and Brendan Lynch.
April Littlejohn (writer, overall director, and producer) has spent the last few years
putting up original work in various theaters in the NOHO Arts District. Coming from a
theater background in Chicago, she moved to LA to become a stuntwoman and worked in
film and television for over two decades before returning to the theater. Her
unconventional style has brought many new actors to the stage and made room for all
demographics. She tries to write roles that can be played by almost any age, gender, and
race. She brings her experience in Film and Television to the stage to try to engage with
a modern audience and bring more people in LA out to the theater. In 2018, with the
second installment of LA Horror Stories, the play brought interaction to the audience as
they were able to choose their own ending to the gruesome horror tale. Pandora’s Box is
a compilation of four short plays that have been challenging to bring to the stage because
of their risqué nature.
Pandora’s Box compiles four short plays that are brought back to the land of Pithos by the mythical character Pandora. With the help of her three sprites, Pandora wanders through subjects of jealousy, hate, sex, love, and desire. Dance and song weave their way through this tale as well as a martial demonstration of the ancient form of Kinbaku, a Japanese S&M practice. There is no nudity but there are strong sexual situations and language throughout the show. Please be advised.
