ENERJOYCE: EVOLUTION OF A BABY BOOMER is a one woman, multi-character, multi-media show set to premiere on March 8th at the Whitefire Theatre in Sherman Oaks as part of the largest solo theatre festival on the West Coast, SOLOFEST 2019. Written and performed by Joyce Fidler and directed and developed with Jessica Lynn Johnson.
Follow the journey of Joyce---a Pisces whose dual personalities FLO and SAM push and pull her through a life that glides along the gentle waves of music, past the choppy surges of marriage and parenting, below the turbulent torrents of alcoholism and into the smooth and rocky streams of sobriety, usefulness and service.
After a decade as a head shop/record store owner, five years of singing in a Midwest pop band (who opened for the Go Go’s), five years as a college communications instructor, and 23 years as a LAUSD special educator, I am now a full time actor. With a BS from Purdue University in Theatre and MA from Butler University in Radio & TV, I come to the stage prepared to rock the space. I am a proud SAG-AFTRA member represented by DDO Artists Agency (Commercial & VO), Dangerfield Talent (Theatrical), and Mincks Talent Management.
ENERJOYCE: EVOLUTION OF A BABY BOOMER is a one woman, multi-character, multi-media show written & performed by Joyce Fidler and directed & developed with Jessica Lynn Johnson. The show traces the life of an effervescent woman whose rambunctious and impulsive life choices lead her through the sex, drugs and rock & roll that define her generation. After moving to LA at age 40 Joyce finds her way to sobriety, a career as a public school teacher and a life of purpose. It is a story of redemption from a 69-year-old firecracker who inspires others from her own generation and the whippersnappers she encounters.
Joyce is blissfully married 20 years to the much younger Paul with grown daughters living in Calabasas and Sydney, Australia. She has one beloved granddaughter, age 5.
