Motherhood

By: T.C. Hoggatt

Your smile and your eyes are unique
Your curious stare bring me back
Your eyes say more than words
Watching you grow
Is like God's unconditional hug and love embracing through me
Watching your learn
Interpreting the world around you
Teaching me to see the world from a different perspective
We are each other's teachers in different ways
I am learning to be patient, appreciate the simple things, and live in the moment
You thought me what unconditional love is
Most importantly the strength and bond that grows between two people
I never want your smile and your curious stare to leave you
As your mother I hope to teach you understanding and courage to believe what is right, to respect your elders, the importance of education and to see the world through your own eyes, most importantly to shine in your own light
Seeing your blissful smile is what makes motherhood worthwhile
