The Millennium Dance Complex is one of the District's major attractions and internationally known for quality dance instruction. It is my privilege to interview Robert Baker, co owner of Millennium Dance Complex.
Nancy: Hi Robert, tell me about yourself
Robert: I began working professionally as an illusionist, in my teens, in my homestate of South Carolina. The show I created toured the eastern United States and landed me in New York City. There, I studied dance and acting, and peformed in theater. I became interested in writing scripts and movies which led to Los Angeles. I enrolled in UCLA Film and TV Program and Immediately began interning at The Vicki Show at NBC UNSOLVED MYSTERIES NBC . My wife AnnMarie, started a dance center across the street from our apartment and I began my own production company, Signature Films. Several years later I produced several movies of the week for ABC and CBS television. I landed a 'first look deal' with legendary CBS president, Bud Grant, at Warner Brothers. After a 3 year deal at Warner, In 1999, I moved my offices to the dance center and began to use my marketing and dance background working with my wife, in doing this I discovered a way to blend of all of my loves. Millennium Dance Complex was the ultimate result.
Nancy: What would you consider your greatest achievement(s)?
Robert: Providing scholarships, best instructors in the world and a safe and creative environment for people to learn.
Nancy: Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?

Nancy: If you had a magic wand, what changes would you make to the NoHo Arts District?
Robert: More affordable housing, make it easier for small bussnisses to get loans! Tax breaks for current businesses and incentives to drive more bussisess to the district. Relocate businesses that don't fit into the district.
Nancy: Robert, YOU are what NoHo is about!

The Millennium Dance Complex is known worldwide as the premiere studio of the commercial dance world and is widely referred to as a ‘the place where it all happens’. Although the studio’s A-list clientele and a faculty of the most sought after dancers and choreographers in the world has catapulted MILLENNIUM to a global brand, it still remains notably grounded, welcoming and dedicated to the highest level of service and instruction.
