First Baptist Church of North Hollywood (FBCNH) will be partnering this July with Kingsgate United Church in Jamaica to form a International Coalition for Jesus called ONE LOVE, This will be a mission of mercy to the impoverished children and families of Kintyre Jamaica. Kintyre is a town of approx 4,000 people which rests on the banks of the Hope River right outside of Kingston. This community has been beseiged with drugs, violence, poverty, gangs and turf wars. The army is now patrolling the area to help quell the violence. The river and land is contaimated with high levels of lead which has left many children sick and some dead. This community is in dire need of physical and spiritual rejuvenation. After much thought and prayer we have joined forces to be a catalyst for hope and harmony providing hot food, groceries, water and clothing.

We will be facilitating a holistic summer food program for the children which will consist of a concert, church service and 100 bags of groceries given away in July, August, and September. Those involved in this coalition are FBCNH,led by Rev Dr. Mike Woodcock and Rev Forrester, Kintyre United Church of Jamaica. The team will be lead by Minister Connie Cobb who is a Missionary from First Baptist as well as the Executive Director of Operation Love Ministries, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping the needy both here and abroad.

Special thanks to First Baptist volunteers: Jennifer Clarke, Lij Kerai, Alaysia Marie, Rebecca Byrd, Rachel Boyd, Demetric Pruitt and Angela Bowie.

The trip is scheduled for July 11 - 22.

This is First Baptist Church's first mission trip and we are all very excited to make a difference in the World. We will also visit Maxfiels Orphanges in Kingston which has over 200 children. We will be bringing them suitcases full of gifts, clothes, toys, candy, and school supplies. We are still in need of donations of toys and hygiene as well as cash donations. If you would like to participate or donate to this worthy cause please call 818 209-6454 or 818 763-4356.
