Dear Self,

I’ve got to hand it to you; you’ve come a long way. Why just in the last couple of weeks, you’ve gone from Hawaii to New York, LA to Chicago, LA to Georgia and Alabama and numerous places in between. You’ve time traveled, juggled networks and clients, created, collaborated, and connected people to projects across the US. And that doesn’t even begin to address the mental and emotional distances you’ve covered! Whew!

How do you do it?

How do you keep focused, excited, sane, healthy, efficient and grateful in a variety of unpredictable conditions with multiple personalities in high-pressure situations?

What keeps you going when you are tired upon tired, have to come up with solutions for problems you’ve never encountered before and you don’t know where you’re going to find an ounce of creative energy let alone the mass quantities you will need to complete multiple projects with grace and ease?

Any ideas?

Well I think it’s how we talk to each other, how you stay positive, and always encourage me. You know how to say the right things just when I need to hear them and help me find the ability to believe in myself when I have doubts.

You seem to know that what we say to others is not nearly as important as what we say to ourselves and that our mind is filled with thoughts that ultimately determine our successes and failures.

You get me! You understand that my self-concept is created by my self-talk, and my concept of my self determines how I perform in my life. I want to be my best in all areas

And because of our positive and encouraging conversations I’ve developed greater feelings of inner strength and self-respect. It’s become easier to stay in the habit of possible thinking. And that’s made me capable of things I didn’t know I could do. Bring it!

So thank you for being my ally, for treating me with kindness and talking to me like a best friend rather than an enemy. I am grateful to you for being my inner support system, growing our relationship in kind and loving ways and for bringing out the best in me. It has taken time, patience, and effort but learning to love and trust myself more means not only enjoying my own company but being able to have deeper connections with others and perform at my highest potential.
With you on my side a life even beyond one I have imagined for myself is possible, well actually, is happening!

Thank you.

See you on set.
