The Group Rep at the Lonny Chapman Theatre PRESENTS the WORLD PREMIERE of STEALING BUFFALO

The start of 2011 is turning out to be a fantastic time to go to theatre in the NoHo Arts District of North Hollywood.  The World Premiere of STEALING BUFFALO, an original Adult Comedy loaded with laughs, written and performed by Vern Urich and Craig Ricci Shaynak opened Saturday, February 5th at The Group Rep at the Lonny Chapman Theatre.
STEALING BUFFALO is a true story of two Hollywood actors who apply for the rights to the David Mamet hit play, “AMERICAN BUFFALO”.  With all avenues blocked to obtain the rights to the play, frustration and anger set in, and in their words “Good artists borrow - - great artists steal.  They set out to do the play anyway, and to heck with the rights.

What ensues is a fun-filled, very adult language comedy loaded with natural quick repartee.  Vern Urich and Craig Ricci Shaynak have written a script that gives you a look into the sometimes aggravating, at times stressed, and on occasion rewarding world of the Hollywood writer, and how friendship is the basis for getting through the rough patches.  We are looking through a window at to how men talk when women are not present, and Vern and Craig are perfect in their roles and entertaining to watch.  Great set, great visuals, great fun.

With loads of references to “Mamet”, very adult profanity, some betrayal and violence, these are just mentioned so you do not bring children to this play.  You will thoroughly enjoy this intimate look into one area of the Hollywood scene.

Enjoy!!!!!
