The San Fernando Valley Art Club (SFVAC) returns to Gallery 800 in the Historic Lankershim Arts Center for its 2012 Spring Juried Show. The show is scheduled from May 12 to June 9. Club President Michelle Nosco emphasized how pleased they were to be back at Gallery 800 for the show stating, “It’s a beautiful venue in a desirable location. The Historic Lankershim Arts Center really supports the arts.”

The SFVAC 2012 Spring Juried Show will feature quality art in most media including oil, water color, acrylic, pastel and pencil. The judge for this year’s event is Dick Heimbold, president of the Glendale Art Association and an artist member of the California Art Club.

Event Chairperson, Jan Cipolla, promises a first-class show stating, “We have so many talented artists in the club. The members create their best work to be included in the show.” The big question is…will plein air artist Sharon Weaver “three-peat” as the Best of Show winner? Her work was selected at both the Spring and Fall shows in 2011.

The Gallery 800 is located at 5108 Lankershim Blvd. in North Hollywood. An opening reception with the artists will be held on Saturday, May 12, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The public is welcome to attend this reception.

The gallery hours are Thursday through Saturday from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The gallery is also open on Sundays from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

The San Fernando Valley Art Club was formed in 1943 in North Hollywood and is the oldest art club in the area. Membership includes over 135 artists working in a variety of media and with skill levels from beginner to professional.
