

The North Hollywood Division has always had a close working relationship with East Valley High School. In the last school year, our focus was on crime reduction. As a result, we did see less crime in the area of the school and this "project" was a huge success. Not just in reducing crime but in forming a great working relationship with the school staff, students and the very active parent center located on the school campus.
Call it stage fright, performance anxiety, talking terror, or podium panic; performing is one of the greatest fears. Experiencing excessive jumpiness, fidgeting, forgetfulness, self-consciousness and doubt can destroy the best performance and render useless, months of painstaking rehearsals.

In these hectic times, most of us are stressed, cranky and close to road rage sitting on the 405 Freeway. During these bad economic times, let's try a little kindness toward our fellow human beings. Kindness doesn't cost anything to give but the end result is priceless!

The International Student Film Festival Hollywood received entries from 15 countries around the world this year, 69 films were accepted into the 2012 competition. Films have come from the Austria, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Hong Kong, India, Israel, Romania, Singapore, Taiwan and throughout the USA. Film students range from elementary school to graduate school. NBC's Top-Rated Summer Series Kicks Off Initial 12-City Talent Search Beginning November 14th
Ready for your shot at $1 million? NBC's top-rated summer series "America's Got Talent," will begin its nationwide search for season eight contestants with auditions beginning in Los Angeles on November 14 and 15. Last season the show discovered unprecedented and unique talent with finalists that included a comedian, a family dog act and a one-of-a-kind musical instrument.
High school students from throughout Los Angeles County are now invited to submit their short films for the 3rd annual Los Angeles Student Media Festival, the only film festival intended solely for high school students in Southern California.
And so began information I received recently on behalf of the Colony as an appeal for funds. Without some major support, the theatre may not survive the financial burden of their current season.
