I really can’t imagine there are many people on the planet that haven’t been touched in some way at some time by some thing that Spielberg has been a part of, he is that HUGE!

It was one of those shoots where we all felt a few butterflies and a bit of awe as we roamed the campus of Amblin where ET was born, Lincoln emerged, and we were shooting an Oscar winning director.

Yet, what really moved me was how he referred to the USC Shoah Foundation, http://sfi.usc.edu/ and its mission to record the testimony of holocaust survivors and teach tolerance, as the most important work of his life.

Snap!  It wasn’t the celeb life, the personal billions, the accolades, awards, or the power to get an ex President to show up at the Golden Globes that he was talking about, it was something in service to making the world a better place that he felt was his greatest achievement. That inspired me.

Thanks for the reminder Steven.  I feel encouraged to check in with myself regularly in 2013 and see if I am aligned with what I value most and make adjustments as needed along the way.

So to kick off the New Year I thought I’d share a few things with you that I intend to do to make my world a better place and in turn hopefully the world at large.

Phone Home: Having connections and an infrastructure that supports my best intentions and goals is an essential part of creating success and happiness for me.  I’m going to have time to connect with friends and family to stay balanced and be reminded of what gifts I have to share with the world.

• True Grit: Taking action that is inspired by a goal or dream can be one of the most rewarding experiences if we praise ourselves for making effort and experience each step in the process as a success.  This year I am going to acknowledge my self along the way to where I think I am going and truly enjoy the ride!

Transformers: One of my least favorite things to think about is change but one of my most favorite things to do is experience transformation.  Go figure.  I am going to be open to learning new ways of being, new ways of working, and to people who share an appreciation of life.

Catch me if you can: We’ve all heard countless times that our health is our greatest wealth but this year I understood it.  I am committed to making healthy choices that support my well-being even if they are difficult habits to break! I am way ahead of those old patterns and thoughts that once kept me tied to choices that don’t serve my best interest.

Let me hear what you will be up to this year.

You’ve got my support and wishes for the best year ever!

See you on set,

Jessie
