This Saturday, November 12th is shaping up to be a big day for NoHo. The free Experience Noho Arts Festival runs from Noon-8p with all kinds of live dance, theater, art, entertainment and more. I'm excited to announce I'll be putting on a charity run walk that morning before the festival starts at 10a. It's called The Experience Noho 3K Run-Walk and 100% of the proceeds are benefiting the Dubnoff Center for Child Development. Dubnoff has been a staple North Hollywood organization for over 60 years now. They help serve kids of all ages with special needs. If you haven't registered for the run-walk yet, here's the link: www.nohorunwalk.eventbrite.com It's only $15..c'mon you can do it!
Tell us about the 3K Run/Walk.
It's a low-impact, fun run-walk around the NoHo Arts District. I'm raising money for Dubnoff Center and they are an organization that helps children with special needs. They've been doing that for about 60 years now here locally in North Hollywood.
What made you decide to do the 3K Run/Walk?
As a local Fitness Trainer and Wellness Coach I try to stay connected and involved in promoting a healthy community any way I can. NoHo is fast becoming the fitness epicenter of Los Angeles along with already being the Arts District. I believe with the right infrastructure, community leaders and government advocacy, NoHo can become a proto-type healthy community to inspire the whole nation! California Assemblymember Mike Feuer's office wanted to outreach and support a health event here. I thought piggybacking a NoHo run-walk for charity before the Experience NoHo Arts Festival would be a perfect tie in; and if people want, they can stick around for the free festival afterwards. All in all, November 12th is going to be a day for NoHo to shine and I'm proud to be a part of it for sure.
Exactly how far is 3 Kilometers? Can I walk instead of run?
It's 1.86 miles. We'll be meeting up in the couryard/grassy area of PitFire Pizza on the corner of Lankershim and Magnolia and covering the main areas of the festival (from Vineland to Tujunga on Magnolia and from Camarillo to Chandler on Lankershim). We end up at Envy Nutrition near Lankershim and Magnolia for some revovery and rehydrating refreshments. It'll actually be a little less than 1.86 mi. but don't tell anyone. Yes, of course, you can walk instead of run. I encourage that, a little socializing, taking in the sights and sounds of NoHo..the arts scene...it's all good.
How do I sign up?
Just go to http://nohorunwalk.eventbrite.com
In a few clicks, you'll be good to go. Get your family, co-workers and friends to sign up too! Spread the message of health and fitness and giving back. That's the spirit of NoHo. Even if you can't make it, please consider a donation..it's for a great local North Hollywood cause.
