I was stopped in the street by someone screaming for help.   I recognized him from someone I arrested about month ago for a possession charge while hanging out in an area McDonalds.  Today he told me he needed help and was having chest pains, so I called him an ambulance. The extreme paranoid behavior and his history of Meth use, made me believe it was likely not a heart attack -but I'm no doctor.

The North Hollywood Division has always had a close working relationship with East Valley High School. In the last school year, our focus was on crime reduction. As a result, we did see less crime in the area of the school and this "project" was a huge success. Not just in reducing crime but in forming a great working relationship with the school staff, students and the very active parent center located on the school campus.

It's North Hollywood's Night Out Against Crime!

The "29th Annual National Night Out" (NNO), a unique crime/drug prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch, has been scheduled for Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at North Hollywood Park from 5pm to 9pm.

Last year's National Night Out campaign involved citizens, law enforcement agencies, civic groups, businesses, neighborhood organizations and local officials from over 15,000 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities and military bases worldwide. In all, over 37 million people participated in National Night Out 2012.

Let's make the "North Hollywood Park National Night out" the best ever. North Hollywood has the best Police Department in the city. Our crime stats continue to drop. Let's show our appreciation. Come and speak with volunteers and members of law enforcement about neighborhood watch, public safety and other concerns that you have about your neighborhoods.

NATIONAL NIGHT OUT is designed to:

  • Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness;
  • Generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs;
  • Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and
  • Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

Above and Beyond

Two Officers and a supervisor responded to a radio call to handle a "death investigation". It was an apparent natural death with no signs of any wrong doing but as officers, we still assist with the family notification and anything else that may be needed.
