PEN America Comes to NoHo

On May 30, 2019, PEN America will celebrate their Prison & Justice Writing program in North Hollywood. Join them at the Road Theatre from 8-10 PM for an exclusive preview of the 2019 winners of the Edward Bunker Prize in Fiction, which recognizes excellence in writing by incarcerated writers.

The NoHo motto really needs to be: “NoHo is only as great as its people.” We are just a one-square-mile arts community in North Hollywood but we have more than 20 theatres! Yep, this is the highest concentration outside of New York City.

Garry Marshall Theatre presents Deidrie Henry in the Broadway play, “Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar and Grill” by Lanie Robertson, for 15 performances May 15 to June 9, 2019. The director is Gregg T. Daniel and playing Jimmy Powers is musical director Abdul Hamid Royal. Daniel most recently directed “The Mountaintop” for Garry Marshall Theatre.
