NoHo News: What's happening in the neighborhood... our picks. NoHo Life: fun in one square mile of Los Angeles.

Here’s your NoHo arts community update!

We look forward to sharing lots of fun and unique news, events, profiles and updates on what’s happening in the NoHo Arts District.

We’re listening to Danileigh’s single “Lil BeBe” from her upcoming project “The Plan.”

"Titans of Soft Rock" dock on the Sunset Strip the first Friday of each month at the world-famous Viper Room in Hollywood.

We’re listening to J-Ax & Fedez “Pieno di stronzi” from the album, “Comunisti col Rolex.” Ciao, 2017. You’ve been a year of such divisiveness and indecency, and just an unprecedented deplorable year.

The NoHo Arts District dot Com team likes to showcase the immense talent we have in our growing one-mile neighborhood. We had the pleasure of meeting and chatting with North Hollywood band Glass Battles.

Mumford & Sons are back with their new album ‘Babel’ and credit should be given where it is due. The record, in terms of sound quality, composition and lyrics are fantastic. Once again the band strip down music to the bare essentials and make it work for them. Songs like "Reminder" and "The Boxer" are perfect poetic stories that, whilst being short, have a huge amount of depth to them.

Moses Luster is an American musician who’s debut album ‘I'm The Lion’ is something that is unusual to say the least.

Van Ghost- The Effect

Van Ghost is a five-piece rock band weeping with soul. Whilst they have their own individual sound, listeners might be reminded slightly of bands such as Matchbox Twenty.

The Sun Explodes is a five piece rock band that fuses several styles of rock with electronic to create their distinct sound. Their debut album ‘Emergence ’ is welcomed with open arms in my eyes. It is fresh and exciting in all the right places. Some might say that they have similarities with the likes of Enter Shikari, this is true and they have the potential to rival them.

I would give anything to have lived in the times of Otis Redding, James Brown, Sam Cook, Young Aretha and Tina and others of their time. I’ve watched past television performances and they all radiate this sweaty, passionate essence behind their wails and screams. They also really knew how to MOVE. We live in a time where all artists are little to polished. There’s a lack of letting go in fear of the internet backlash that might surface post performance. Back then, Tina’s hair would whip while her raspy voice belted. Aretha wouldn’t let drops of sweat get in the way of her sexually driven vocals. Otis’ voice would crack and sweat stains would penetrate his three-piece suit…and it was brilliant.
