Nothing rings truer than authenticity. When it comes to music, we look for artists and the songs they write to tell our stories through their own. It’s a comfort to know that we’re not alone and the message is carefully dressed in the arrangements and melodies of a good song. Sometimes the music that is thrown at us on a daily basis is a manufactured version of that. It’s the McDonald’s of music where we get it really fast and easy but it won’t sustain us. That is why I am so thrilled to have discovered the enchanting Elaine Faye.

Branding is a huge part of an artist’s identity and the truer it is the more you’re willing to connect with that artist. When I met Elaine Faye she was as true as a person as she was in her onstage presence. She’s beautiful but doesn’t exploit it. She simply rocks a flannel, jeans and geek chic glasses with ease. You feel like you’ve known her and her songs take you to the lighter side of life.

I met her a few years ago and I took a liking to her right away. She’s truly a musician and I geek out when I meet a girl that just “gets” it musically. She was performing at the Green Room at the Musician’s Institute in LA where she was studying at the time. Her sound mixes in a touch of American folk roots to acoustic throw back soul.

Since then, I’ve kept tabs on her career and I’ve watched her single handedly create an LA buzz. She’s opened for Honey, Honey, The Daylights, Katherine McPhee to name a few. Her music has been heard on Mob Wives, Jersey Shore. Music Connection named her the one of the best unsigned bands in LA. Her songs have been played on many local radio and internet stations as well as Kiss Fm in New York and Utica. June 7th she will be hitting the stages of Bonaroo! The girl is killing it!

Elaine is the real deal. Her music is fun and honest. It is nice to hear something as refreshing as she is. She’s the girl you want to see succeed. Jump on the Faye train and follow her on twitter @elainefaye and check out more of her music and videos at http://www.elainefaye.com.
