Kari Kimmel and Joe Corcoran are two very, very successful musicians.

They have written songs for The Backstreet Boys, Ke$ha and Demi Lovato, and Kari has sung on three platinum and five gold soundtracks.  Joe has earned two platinum records for his work as an engineer, mixer and musician and a number one international hit with Lenka’s “The Show.”  So these guys are the real deal.

Their own work already feels iconic. It has that deep, rare, exquisite musicality that only exists in what we have to have as the soundtrack to our lives.  It is spiraling, enigmatic, stylish, full of energy and shiny like Japan.  It’s Blondie meets The Ting Tings meets David Bowie.  It’s music for space exploration, driving fast to escape your doom, it’s Bonny and Clyde blow up the moon music.

Speaking of David Bowie, Joe Corcoran produced Chris Hadfield’s “A Space Oddity” which Bowie called “the most poignant version of the song ever created.”  Which is something else isn’t it?  Speaking of icons, Ringo Starr had Kari sing with him on the 2014 Grammys, as well as the CBS 50th Anniversary Beatles Tribute.  Impressed?

That’s all amazing of course, but how is their own music?  Well, I’d have to say it’s bloody brilliant…gorgeous guitars, sometimes dirty, beautiful bashing beats and sublime mind blowing vocals all incredibly produced like it’s the beat of your own heart. Can you tell I like it yet?

Actually I have been playing this EP all day. I can’t wait to get in my car later and drive around with it on. Am I sad?  Probably.   But this music is so good you can’t really do anything else when you listen to it.  It demands your attention, it’s powerful and driving and mesmerizing. Check out their video:

LUC’s “Glow” is music for the new world, the world we dream about, the world we wish we lived in and the world we must make to save us all. I swear I am not exaggerating... I never do that…
