In its 2nd year of operations, the BID will
continue to improve upon those impressive
statistics and begin work on additional
programs. On January 15, 20008, the NoHo BID
board participated in a retreat to aid in
developing a core purpose statement,
accomplishments and benefits for the
organization. The core purpose statement of
NoHo BID is “to lead the continual
enhancement of North Hollywood as a
flourishing and trendsetting center for
arts, culture and commerce.”
The Board outlined the following five
priorities and defined measures of success
for 2008:
Maintenance Program
- A noticeable
difference in total cleanliness,
“something has changed/a
difference/improved here”
- Change mindset of
property owners
- Lead by example
Safety/Ambassador
Program
- Feeling of safety
- Nighttime safety
- “NoHo is safe”
Communications
- There will be a
higher awareness of the NoHo BID
- Website
Advocacy
- That the BID is the
property/business advocate
- A Leader
BID Renewal
- Successful renewal of
the NoHo BID for 5 years
In addition, the Board and
Staff are working on the following
initiatives:
Central Valet Parking System –
On June 12th, a Valet Parking system will be
in place. There will be three valet stands
in strategic locations. A patron can leave
the car at a valet stand and pick their car
up any of the valet stands. Valet Parking
will be offered Thursday-Saturday nights and
Sunday all day. The price for valet parking
is $5.
Overall Parking Strategy—
Going forward the BID staff will be working
on identifying all of the parking issues in
within the BID and putting together a plan
and recommendations for improving parking.
Economic Development Research—
BID staff is researching various
demographics and statistics about the area.
This information will be collected into a
packet of information that will be used by
realtors and property owners to market and
lease existing retail space.
