Recent
Theatre
Party
Tour
Saturday,
Jan
17,
2003,
NoHo
Tours
introduced
17
Ohio
students
from
Central
Crossing
High
School
to
NoHo
Arts
District.
These
teenagers
are
majoring
in
theatre
and
were
part
of
an
educational
tour
produced
by
Explore
America
whose
mission
is
to
deliver
the
life-changing
experience
of
travel
to
students
from
around
the
world.
We
finally
got
them
to
the
best
-
NoHo.
The
tour
began
at
the
Academy
of
Television
Arts
&
Sciences
where
the
students
explored
the
Hall
of
Fame
Plaza
and
had
a
photo
session
with
the
grand
18
ft
bronze
lady,
the
Academy’s
“Emmy.“
We
then
strolled
to
NoHo
Modern
Gallery
where
the
students
explored
the
link
between
the
decorative
and
fine
arts.
We
stopped
for
a
great
hamburger
at
our
newest
NoHo
restaurant,
J
C
Grill.
The
students
couldn’t
resist
Ragtime
Cowboy
Joe’s
clothing
store
where
they
found
an
array
of
personal
treasures
that
could
only
be
found
in
NoHo.
These
young,
aspiring
actors,
playwrights,
technical
directors
and
producers
couldn’t
wait
to
get
to
NoHo’s
Zombie
Joe’s
Underground
theatre
to
see
the
last
two
hours
of
the
theatre’s
25
hour
non-stop
epic
comedy
marathon.
Chups
Comedy
Group
“Los
Chupacabras”
gave
a
stellar
performance
lampooning
all
contemporary
issues
political,
social
and
mineral.
The
show
was
non-stop
laughs
and
very
interactive.
After
the
show,
members
of
Chups
Comedy
Group
and
Zombie
Joe,
owner
of
the
theatre,
did
a
45-minute
Q
&
A
session
for
the
students
on
making
it
in
Los
Angeles’
entertainment
industry.
The
students
were
thrilled
to
talk
to
“real
actors”
who
are
living
their
dream. The discussion was like a “Reality Show” for these
students
but
the
continuous
thread
of
the
dialog
was
“you
live
your
passion
and
if
fame
and
fortune
comes
that’s
okay
too.”
Carrie
Wishart,
Central
Crossing
High
School’s
Theatre
Director
said:
“Our
time
at
NoHo
was
fabulous!
Many
of
the
students
mentioned
that
NoHo
was
their
favorite
"stop"
on
our
tour.
I
would
have
to
agree.
As
a
teacher,
I
want
the
tours
my
students
take
not
only
to
be
fun
(which
it
was)
but
also
very
educational.
The
talk
my
students
had
with
Zombie
Joe's
Underground
actors
and
Zombie
Joe
himself
was
one
of
the
most
inspirational
they
have
experienced.
The
actors,
having
been
in
process
improv
for
25
hours,
spent
another
hour
with
us,
giving
advice
and
answering
questions.
Not
only
did
it
reiterate
what
I
have
been
trying
to
teach
my
students,
but
by
action,
the
actors
showed
resilience,
commitment,
and
dedication
to
their
craft.
We
were
privileged
to
have
been
a
part
of
such
an
extraordinary
experience.
We
will
definitely
make
NoHo
a
larger
part
of
our
tour
to
LA
in
the
future.”
