My name is Sky (ID# A1358453) and I am at the East Valley Animal Shelter located at 14409 Vanowen St, Van Nuys.  I am a female, black and white Pit Bull Terrier. I am 11 months old and I want to live.  I love children and other pets and most of all I would love a Mom and/or Dad.

Animal Rescue, Media & Education (ARME), a local nonprofit animal advocacy organization,  announced the 6th annual Shelter Drive to supply homeless animals with needed supplies, toys and treats. Items collected from dozens of locations citywide will be distributed to the six city shelters on November 19, just prior to the Thanksgiving weekend to give dogs, cats, and other animals housed by L.A. Animal Services some creature comforts for the holidays.

For far too many years, growing up in North Hollywood, I, like most individuals only thought of the Animal Shelter as a place to go when our Beagles Chula and Linda were successful in overcoming the obstacles which kept them in our yard. After a quick bike ride around the neighborhood, a group of track homes built prior to the completion of the 170 Freeway; it was off to the “Pound” to see if they had been pinched by the “Dog Catcher” who used to make the rounds in the neighborhood, just like the Helms Truck.
