These 3 factors inhibit the blood flow to your brain

Brain health is important! I don't have to tell you that.

Our brains control every tissue, cell, and organ in our bodies, so blood flow to it and thus oxygen saturation into the tissues is vital.

The 1st factor that inhibits blood flow to the brain is caffeine. Coffee, Tea, Soda, Energy Drinks are all culprits when consumed daily in excess. Try to stick to just 1 cup of coffee or tea a day, and eliminate sodas and artificial energy drinks from your diet completely. It may seem counter-intuitive, but you'll have more focus, energy and clarity by significantly reducing your daily caffeine doses.

The 2nd factor that inhibits blood flow to the brain is sugar, especially processed. We Americans consume almost 100 grams of sugar a day! That's like 5 times as much as folks did in the early 20th century. So look for foods with a low glycemic index such as oatmeal, whole grains and non starchy vegetables and carrots.

The 3rd factor that inhibits blood flow to the brain are bad fats like trans and saturated, as well as highly processed oils like canola. Our brain and body does need a certain percentage of good fats though, so increase those good fats that are in various nuts, avocados, and salmon.

Special Note: Consume more herbs and spices to increase the blood flow to your brain. Suggestions include Turmeric, which helps reduce brain plaque, Cinnamon, which helps regulate sugar levels, as well as Basil and Garlic, which helps directly increase blood flow to the brain.
