Holiday Packing Checklist for the Fashion and Makeup Obsessed

Healthy Overpacking: Beach/Summer

I am finalizing this post while on a beautiful beach holiday and once again as usual, I am completely stunned by how I always manage to overpack, as much as I might try not to.

That is why, just like in the last post, I am writing my future self, and you, a checklist to keep you on track (my last post was about keeping you on track while cleaning out the closet) while packing for your next holiday if you are a fashion and makeup lover but also a terrible overpacker.

This list still isn't for the light travelers who prefer taking only their carry-on. No, that would be very hypocritical of me. This one is for the true over packer.

The list that I have combined is based on the assumption that the trip lasts a week and that the destination is a warm destination with a beach. I have combined a list which includes all items you could imagine you would have to take on a beach holiday from sunscreen to a phone charger. I am going to include clothing and vanity items for almost everything you could imagine like sightseeing, going to the beach or going out during the night.

Clothes and accessories

  • 5 sundresses
  • 2 going out dresses
  • 2 pairs of shorts
  • 2 skirts
  • Pair of long black pants or jeans
  • 4 basic/daytime tops
  • 2 fancy/nightime tops
  • Light jacket
  • Pair of flip flops
  • 2 pairs of heels
  • Pair of sneakers
  • 5 pairs of socks
  • 2 bras
  • 7 pairs of underwear
  • 2 crossbody bags
  • Both silver and gold jewelry
  • 2 bikini sets
  • One swimsuit
  • Beach towel
  • 3 pairs of sunglasses

Skincare and hygienic supplies

  • Sunscreen
  • Facial moisturizer (with sunscreen in it)
  • After-sun lotion and/or body lotion
  • Toothbrush and toothpaste
  • Shampoo and conditioner
  • Shower gel
  • Deodorant

Makeup

  • Foundation

If you are going on a beach holiday, preferably grab 2 different shades, so you don’t end up looking like a ghost by the end of the trip when applying a foundation you are now too tan to wear

  • Bronzer
  • Blush
  • Highlighter

All the three aforementioned are my absolute summer holiday essentials to keep the skin looking nice and healthy

  • Concealer
  • Setting powder
  • Brow pencil
  • Mascara
  • Eyeliner
  • Your favorite eyeshadow palette
  • Setting Spray
  • Multifunctional makeup brushes

For example a blush brush, which you could use for all powder, blush, bronzer and a fluffy eyeshadow blush which you could use for blending the crease and highlight

Hair

  • Dry Shampoo
  • Hair Brush
  • Straightening iron
  • Curling iron
  • Hairspray
  • Bobby pins
  • Hair ties

Carry-on

  • Passport/Documents!
  • Wallet!
  • Phone & charger!
  • Camera and Computer & chargers (if you decide to take those)
  • Headphones
  • Battery bank
  • Small moisturizer
  • Tissues and wet wipes
  • Lip balm
  • Hairbrush
  • A good book

One more time: this list was not meant for the light traveler, but should help guide most fashionistas.

Be well prepared for your next trip, don't start packing last minute and good luck with not exceeding the weight limit for the check in baggage and hope you found this of any help!
