As summer continues, kids are out of school, and some are finishing semesters this month we find ourselves contemplating whether to take a sun filled vacation or perhaps get a summer job? For those unfortunate skipping summer vacation this year ( college students) I have some fun looks that will probably get you an ice breaker conversation about your rocking blazer or slacks… or maybe you’ll impress them so much with your outfit you’ll be hired just because they want your amazing tips on how to look good in slacks! Well let me tell you what this blog post is about…what to wear to a summer job interview and still look fashionable. Colors, skirts, prints, and a great website at the end to help you get started with that job hunt and since I am fashionista I got a great website packed with open positions in the fashion industry. ENJOY!

Prints are always a great add-on to your outfit it makes you stand out especially if worn as a skirt like the outfit above. Try prints on one of your pieces or if you are daring enough try prints all over!

To achieve a classier look try some classic pieces and colors, the black and white skirt is perfect in this case, this outfit is a bit more conservative so if you’re interviewing for a paralegal position def try something like this.

Maybe you’re trying to go for a Duchess of Cambridge look? This cute but well put together look it’s a twist on what Princess Catherine would wear. Playing around with your shoes can really bring out your personality. In this case a cheetah print shoes are working just right for her.

Wide-leg pants are hot right now, try them in slack and in pop colors with a neutral and simple top. You’ll look chic and professional ready to take on the role of the newest Fashion Buyer Assistant.

If your appointment falls on a Wednesday, don’t forget “On Wednesday’s we wear pink”. Pairing soft colors like this pink with a rocking blazer completes your look, you’ll look sweet but strong. Make sure you let them know what an asset of a candidate you are!

If the position you are applying to is more laid back and casual try some dark jeans and a stylish top. Sandals with heels and a blazer (preferably in color) will make your outfit look casual and presentable in case they call in an immediate meeting with the executive team.

So now that you got your look, check out this website it is awesome if you’re trying to get into the fashion industry. All you need to do is create a profile and log in or you will not get access to job listings. Some companies that work with StyleCareers.com are: BCBG, BEBE, Forever21, Guess, Macys, Nordstrom, Calvin Klein, etc. Job positions you might find can vary from retail sales associate to corporate level positions like Marketing Director.
