Happy New Years!! I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday season as much as I did with your loved ones. A few things about the year 2014, according to the Chinese calendar it is the year of the horse which means that (for people like me with birthdays that fall into the year of the Horse) it is a great year filled with opportunities, unexpected adventures, surprising romances, so yes I am beyond excited to find out what 2014 has in store for me and as well as the fashion industry. With that said I have come up with a short list of fashion trends that we should all be thrown to the curb and waved goodbye as of right now! Love it or leave it you decide but the following are some of the best and worst fashion trends of 2013…unfortunately we have all been victims so do not feel bad.

Love it:
Over the knee boots
The Mod dress
Leopard Print
Emerald Green
Leave it:
Wedge boots
Fancy Sweatshirts
Baseball Caps
Oversized Sweatshirts
Cropped Tops

Love it: Let’s start with some good news, we all have our favorite high knee boots don’t worry they are not going anywhere, 2014 is very high-boot friendly. Why? High boots are the most confidence booster no matter how you wear them. They give you that instant “I look great” attitude that we don’t want to take away from any women. They are dressy, casual and sexy at the same time so ladies there’s still time to run down to your nearest favorite department store and pick a pair you love.

Leave it: I can personally say I was not a victim of this fancy sweater with cheesy graphics…but I can’t deny I was almost close to buying a pair at Forever21 (they were overstock with the trend by the way). Don’t get me wrong I love the 90’s, being a 90’s kid I thought the whole 90’s come back was absolutely adorable but yes in this case graphics sweaters should stay in the 90’s, do you agree??

Love it: Emerald green oh how I love and adore the color, never got the chance to watch Wicked (for those of you that aren’t familiar with the Broadway show Wicked, they reference the Emerald city in the classic Wizard of Oz movie) One of the most loved color trends of 2013 this color continues to be popular this year, great color for the year of the Horse.

Leave it: Last and least trend that should be left behind ten feet under are the crop tops…Please ladies let’s all wave goodbye to this ridiculous love and hate relationship with have with this trend, we have all been there done that (me, yes I am a victim). With that said, that were some of my choices that I think should be left behind don’t worry there are plenty of better things store for us spring 2014.

Best wishes, Vanessa
